LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Sister Mary Ann LoGiudice for her 35
years of service and dedication to Community Maternity Services

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State is nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recog-
nition and just tribute to those individuals and organizations which
distinguish themselves through their unremitting commitment and service
to humanity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Sister Mary
Ann LoGiudice for 35 years of distinguished service and dedication to
Community Maternity Services at its Celebration of Hope Dinner held on
Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at the Italian American Community Center,
Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Community Maternity Services, an agency of Catholic Charities
of the Diocese of Albany, was founded in 1971, as a single residential
program providing services to pregnant adolescents; and
WHEREAS, Community Maternity Services now provides a continuum of
services including: care for pregnant and parenting adolescents and
their families, group residence and family care for children, prevention
services and support for families at risk, adoption services, foster
care services, and respite services; and
WHEREAS, Sister Mary Ann LoGiudice has been a Sister of Mercy since
1965; she spent the past 35 years of her professional life at Community
Maternity Services, initially serving as the Residential Director of the
Maternity Center, before holding several other positions, such as in
1990, when she was promoted to Executive Director of Community Maternity
Services; and
WHEREAS, Under Sister Mary Ann LoGiudice's leadership, Community
Maternity Services has provided compassionate, effective intervention,
and services for pregnant and parenting adolescents, vulnerable chil-
dren, and at-risk families in order to foster personal growth, preserve
families, and provide access to health, educational, and social
services; and
WHEREAS, Sister Mary Ann LoGiudice has touched the lives of countless
young mothers and children; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Sister Mary Ann LoGiudice for 35 years of service and dedication
to Community Maternity Services; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sister Mary Ann LoGiudice.
