LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jeffrey E. Graham upon the occasion of
his retirement after 20 years of distinguished service as Mayor of the
City of Watertown
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jeffrey E.
Graham upon the occasion his retirement as Mayor of the City of Water-
town; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey E. Graham served as Mayor of Watertown for over 20
years, making him the longest serving mayor in the City's history; and
WHEREAS, Through the years, Jeffrey E. Graham worked with fellow
elected officials and citizens to create a positive atmosphere and over-
see collaborative efforts to complete needed projects; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure as Mayor, Jeffrey E. Graham's many accom-
plishments included helping to save the New York Air Brake company,
regionalizing the Watertown International Airport, and reviving the
Woolworth Building; and
WHEREAS, As a small business owner, Mayor Graham was able to relate to
the local economy and his fellow business owners; and
WHEREAS, A strong supporter of his community and its citizens, Jeffrey
E. Graham was well-known for often being the first on the scene in
times of emergency or disaster; and
WHEREAS, Through his leadership, passion for improving the City, and
care for his community, Jeffrey E. Graham will leave an indelible mark
on the City of Watertown; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jeffrey E. Graham upon the occasion of his retirement after 20
years of distinguished service as Mayor of the City of Watertown, and to
wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mayor Jeffrey E. Graham.
