LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Dr. Chidi Nwaneri upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the National Action Network,
West Nassau Chapter, on April 17, 2016
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Chidi Nwaneri has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Dr. Chidi
Nwaneri upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter, to be celebrated at
its 3rd Annual Women's Prestigious Gala Awards Dinner held on Sunday,
April 17, 2016, at the Chateau Briand Caterers in Carle Place, New York;
and
WHEREAS, The National Action Network's Annual Women's Prestigious Gala
Awards Dinner recognizes outstanding individuals who demonstrate excel-
lence in their work, service, and commitment to the Jewish, Nigerian,
Caribbean, Spanish, Haitian and American communities; and
WHEREAS, The West Nassau Chapter, under the able leadership of
District Chairperson Pastor Emmanuel Asse, continues the mission of NAN
which fulfills a vital role in moving our nation forward; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Chidi Nwaneri is a respected Physicist and Educator who
is widely known for his work as a consultant, administrator, politician
and philanthropist; throughout his life, he has invested greatly in the
educational development of his native country, Nigeria; and
WHEREAS, Born on November 26, 1964, Chidi Nwaneri is the son of Chief
A. Clement and Ezinne Justina Nwaneri of Umelem Village in Imo State;
he studied at St. Charles Primary School Nkalagu and St. Patrick's
Missionary Secondary School; and
WHEREAS, Following graduation, Chidi Nwaneri worked with St. Theresa
College Nsukka as a Mathematics and Physics teacher, and obtained his
Bachelors of Education in Physics at ABU Zaria; he also worked for the
Kano State Ministry of Education as a Physics teacher, and taught Math-
ematics in 148 Batalon Janguza Kano Army Training School; and
WHEREAS, After joining the National Directorate of Employment, Chidi
Nwaneri established a unique Queens & Kings Science School in Suleja
Niger State; this school became a success story with many of its
students performing admirably in international examinations as well as
in their chosen careers; and
WHEREAS, During his illustrious tenure, Chidi Nwaneri has awarded
scholarships to over 200 students from underprivileged backgrounds in
both primary and secondary sections irrespective of tribes or religion;
and
WHEREAS, In 2007, Chidi Nwaneri obtained his Master's degree in Educa-
tional Psychology at Nasarawa State University; he also received an
Honorary Degree of Science from European-American University, and an
honorary Doctor of Science in Denver, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, Chidi Nwaneri obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from European-Am-
erican University in 2013, and is now studying law at the University of
Abuja; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Chidi Nwaneri has
worked tirelessly to promote science and mathematics education; he has
published numerous materials, and established clubs to inspire young
minds and build confidence; many of his former students are now engi-
neers, doctors, surveyors, and architects; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Chidi Nwaneri has received numerous accolades including
the prestigious National Honors Award, as member of the order of the
Niger MON; he is also known as "the father of the children of all
nations," and has been acknowledged for his role in such aid projects as
providing potable water for people through construction of bore
holes/tap water; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Dr. Chidi Nwaneri has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Chidi Nwaneri upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Chidi Nwaneri.
