LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Diane Rowe upon the occasion of her
retirement after 18 years of distinguished service to the Boys and Girls
Club of Buffalo

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Diane Rowe upon the occasion of her retirement after 18 years of distin-
guished service to the Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo, New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 18 years, Diane Rowe rendered faithful, consci-
entious and valuable service to the Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo; and
WHEREAS, The Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo has been instrumental in
guiding the learning and growth of youths throughout Western New York
through programs which improve literacy, assist in academic achievement,
promote health and nutrition, encourage character development, and
provide essential job training; and
WHEREAS, As Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Club of
Buffalo, Diane Rowe has rendered an indispensable service to the Buffalo
community and one of the area's largest youth services agencies in West-
ern New York; and
WHEREAS, Diane Rowe managed a highly productive work force of over 150
employees, and has been instrumental in expanding services to more than
4,000 children in 13 different clubhouses across the region; and
WHEREAS, Motivated to provide members of the Boys and Girls Club of
Buffalo with substantial assistance, Diane Rowe's willingness and vision
for the agency included establishing key partnerships with other organ-
izations in the community to enhance both the quality and viability of
services including mental health, medical help, and family case manage-
ment; and
WHEREAS, Diane Rowe has worked intensively to create programs for the
Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo geared towards developing youth, espe-
cially relative to academic success; her personal enthusiasm has encour-
aged numerous children in the Buffalo area who were elevated to their
fullest potential; and
WHEREAS, Under Diane Rowe's extraordinary leadership, the Boys and
Girls Club of Buffalo has thrived through difficult economic times as a
sustainable non-profit organization; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and
Girls Club of Buffalo, Diane Rowe served with loyalty, honor and
distinction, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Diane Rowe was governed by a keen sense
of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Diane Rowe upon the occasion of her retirement after 18 years of
distinguished service to the Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Diane Rowe.
