LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Davidzon Radio of New York City upon
the occasion of celebrating its 10th Anniversary on February 26, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality and
character of life in this great Empire State is indelibly enriched by
the faithful and untiring efforts of those individuals who have helped
shape the history of broadcasting in their area; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Davidzon Radio of New York City upon the occasion of celebrating its
10th Anniversary on February 26, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Founded by Gregory Davidzon, Davidzon Radio, WSNR 620-AM,
began broadcasting on February 28, 2005; it is New York City's only
Russian language radio station which can be heard on every radio, as
well as the Internet and smart phones; and
WHEREAS, Today, Davidzon Radio is the largest Russian language media
group outside of Russia; broadcasts can be heard throughout the Tri-
State New York City area and the Boston region; and
WHEREAS, Over one million listeners from 62 countries listen to
programs such as talk, entertainment, political, celebrity appearances,
and local, national and international news; and
WHEREAS, Davidzon Radio provides its listeners with a connection to
the "old country" with segments on news, celebrities, and analysis from
the former Soviet Union; in addition, it airs original broadcasts from
throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, Davidzon Radio keeps its faithful listeners informed regard-
ing events and politics with its own reporters in New York City, Wash-
ington, D.C., San Diego, Chicago, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Israel,
Canada, and various European locations; and
WHEREAS, Davidzon Radio has served its Russian community with integri-
ty and devotion, continuously striving to meet the needs of its listen-
ers through entertainment and enlightenment; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those organizations of true purpose and worthy accomplishment which
foster a spirit of community and service and, simultaneously, work dili-
gently to preserve their rich cultural heritage; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Davidzon Radio upon the occasion of celebrating its 10th Anni-
versary on February 26, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gregory Davidzon, Owner, Davidzon Radio.
