LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the MARK Project, Inc. upon the occasion
of its designation as Business Advocate of the Year by the Delaware
County Chamber of Commerce on May 6, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the achievements of individuals, organizations, and businesses
which contribute substantially to the economic health and vitality of
the communities of the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
MARK Project, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as Business
Advocate of the Year by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, to be
celebrated on Friday, May 6, 2016, at SUNY Delhi, Delhi, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to the
cooperative efforts of the business and residential community in
preserving the quality, character, and vitality of businesses in the
County of Delaware and, each year, proudly honors those in the communi-
ty, such as the MARK Project, Inc., which helps to further these goals;
and
WHEREAS, The MARK Project, Inc. was selected to receive this auspi-
cious award in recognition of their ongoing efforts to support local
small businesses and innovative economic development planning; and
WHEREAS, For 30 years, the MARK Project, Inc. has provided housing
programs, economic development and technical assistance services to the
Towns of Andes, Middletown and Roxbury, and the Villages of Fleischmanns
and Margaretville; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization works on economic development efforts
in the areas of outdoor recreation and tourism, arts and culture, agri-
culture and forest products and alternative health and healing and on
the business and social activities that support and sustain our communi-
ties; and
WHEREAS, With a goal to improve the lives of those who live and work
locally and to create an attractive destination for those who visit, the
MARK Project, Inc. also works to build the capacity of individuals,
organizations, businesses and municipalities, providing the necessary
resources that help them achieve their own pre-determined goals; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges the success of the MARK Project, Inc., recognizes its contrib-
utions to the local and State economies, and fully confident that, in
its future, it will enjoy the same sparkling success which has so char-
acterized its past; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the MARK Project, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as
Business Advocate of the Year by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce
on May 6, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the MARK Project, Inc.
