LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Griffo upon
the occasion of celebrating their 70th Wedding Anniversary

WHEREAS, Joseph G. Griffo, the son of Frank and Eleanora Griffo, and
Betty Marino, the daughter of Antonio and Rose Marino, were united in
marriage on May 9, 1946, at St. John the Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, This joyous union has been blessed by their son, Joseph A.
Griffo and their daughter-in-law, Lorraine Griffo, who received from his
devoted parents a warm, happy and caring home; a love of community; a
strong faith in God and a loving appreciation for family and friends;
and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world since Joe and Betty Grif-
fo were married, their love, trust and commitment have remained a
constant source of strength and hope; and
WHEREAS, Today, Joe and Betty Griffo continue to be active, civic-
minded members of the community and an inspiration to their son and
daughter-in-law and a host of friends and neighbors in the City of Rome;
and
WHEREAS, Joe and Betty Griffo have lived and continue to live their
lives with great dignity and genuine grace, always demonstrating a deep
and continuing concern for human values and ideals; and
WHEREAS, The longevity of this enduring marriage truly marks a mile-
stone in life's journey, an event of personal triumph and joy; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Griffo upon the occasion of celebrating
their 70th Wedding Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joe and Betty Griffo.
