LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Erica Kuskin upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2015 5 Diamond Hospitality Award by the
Bensonhurst West End Community Council

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, It is also the practice of this Legislative Body to take note
of and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this
great State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Erica Kuskin upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2015 5 Diamond Hospitality Award by the Bensonhurst West End Community
Council to be celebrated at its 54th Annual Gala, at El Caribe, Brook-
lyn, New York on Thursday, March 5, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Erica Kuskin and her two sisters, Robyn and Randi, were
raised by their parents, Ilene and Ned Kuskin; she attended PS 128, and
IS 281 Joseph B. Cavallaro, as well John Dewey High School in Brooklyn,
New York; and
WHEREAS, For the last eight years, Erica Kuskin has been employed as a
Guest Service Associate at The Westin Grand Central Hotel; in December
of 2014, she received the Employee of the Year Award which recognized
her genuine love for what she does and for her ability to make her
guests feel special; and
WHEREAS, Erica Kuskin is also an active volunteer at PS 212 Lady Debo-
rah Moody in Brooklyn, and is a participant on the Hospitality Committee
for the Bensonhurst West End Community Council; and
WHEREAS, In 2010, Erica Kuskin became a vital member of the Executive
Board and held the position of Recording Secretary of PS 212's PTA; in
addition, she serves on the school leadership team, and when possible,
attends District 21 Community Education Council, and President's Coun-
cil, as well as the Bensonhurst West End Community Council's Open Month-
ly meetings; and
WHEREAS, Five years ago, along with a group of mothers, Erica Kuskin
started the Harway Terrace Holiday Committee which hosts festive holiday
parties for the many residents of the buildings; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her loving daughter, Ashley, who
feels privileged to be a part of her life and rejoices in her achieve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, Erica Kuskin has brought great credit upon herself by contin-
ually demonstrating an impressive dedication, an unparalleled devotion
and an unremitting enthusiasm on behalf of the public school educational
community in Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Erica Kuskin has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has earned the respect
and admiration of her colleagues, family and friends; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Erica Kuskin upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2015 5 Diamond Hospitality Award by the Bensonhurst West End Commu-
nity Council; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Erica Kuskin.
