LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Coach Karen Haag upon the occasion
of celebrating her 300th career victory as Head Coach of The College of
Saint Rose Women's Basketball Team

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend notable
athletic coaches who serve the young men and women of this great Empire
State, and who have distinguished themselves and their schools through
outstanding commitment and exemplary athletic achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Coach Karen Haag upon the occasion of celebrating her 300th career
victory as Head Coach of The College of Saint Rose Women's Basketball
Team; and
WHEREAS, Coach Karen Haag earned her 300th overall career victory with
an exciting 61-47 victory over rival Pace University on Wednesday,
February 11, 2015, at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium in Albany, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Currently in her 14th year as Head Coach of The College of
Saint Rose Women's Basketball Team, Coach Karen Haag has guided and
mentored the Golden Knights into becoming an elite NCAA program; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding leader has provided her teams with a sense
of consistency and a progressive mindset, resulting in four bids to the
NCAA Tournament within the past eight years, and nine straight postsea-
son appearances prior to the 2012-13 season; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her many basketball accomplishments, Coach
Karen Haag has received numerous accolades for her work off the court,
including her selection as a representative for the Capital Region at
the National Jefferson Awards Ceremony in recognition of public service;
and
WHEREAS, Coach Karen Haag's positive demeanor, selfless commitment,
and caring concern have contributed to her enduring success as a coach
and mentor, earning her the just respect and admiration of her communi-
ty, her peers, and the athletes she has so ably coached; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, to
congratulate Coach Karen Haag upon the occasion of celebrating her 300th
career victory as Head Coach of The College of Saint Rose Women's
Basketball Team; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Coach Karen Haag.
