LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring NYCM Insurance upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2016 NBT Bank Distinguished Business of
the Year Award by the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who devote themselves to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor NYCM
Insurance upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2016
NBT Bank Distinguished Business of the Year Award by the Otsego County
Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its 30th Annual Spring Dinner
themed "Otsego County The Pearl of New York State" on Thursday, March 3,
2016, at The Hunt Union Ballroom, SUNY Oneonta, Oneonta, New York; and
WHEREAS, Since 1986, the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce has served
the businesses and communities of Otsego County with programs and
services designed to foster strong economic growth and make the county a
great place to live and work; and
WHEREAS, The Chamber's accomplishments were recognized by The Business
Council of New York State with the designation of 2013 Chamber of the
Year; and
WHEREAS, In 2016, the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce celebrates its
30th business anniversary, which is represented by the symbol of the
pearl; during this milestone year, this worthy organization will show-
case through various events and activities its strength and resilience
as an organization and its confidence as it looks ahead to the future;
and
WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1899 by VanNess DeMar Robinson, NYCM
Insurance has been operating as a family business; and
WHEREAS, Currently in its fourth generation, the Robinson family
continues to manage NYCM under the able leadership of President/CEO V.
Daniel Robinson II; he is dedicated to providing the same service and
security on which this company was built more than 100 years ago; and
WHEREAS, NYCM Insurance is a company woven into the fabric of Otsego
County and prides itself on being a large employer that provides employ-
ees an engaging and enjoyable work environment, both professionally and
personally, as well as promotes health and wellness programs; and
WHEREAS, The success of NYCM Insurance is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its management and staff, whose involvement is, and always
has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthu-
siasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on
behalf of the business and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor NYCM Insurance upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2016 NBT Bank Distinguished Business of the Year Award by the
Otsego County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to President/CEO V. Daniel Robinson II, NYCM Insurance.
