COMMENDING Courtney Bynoe upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Tri
Community and Youth Agency on March 30, 2017

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Courtney Bynoe upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Tri Community and Youth Agency to be celebrated at
its Hall of Honor Cocktail Party and Dinner on Thursday, March 30, 2017,
at the Woodbury Country Club in Woodbury, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Tri Community and Youth Agency is a private,
not-for-profit community based agency dedicated to supporting the growth
and development of youth and their families in the communities of
Huntington, South Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor; and

WHEREAS, For over three decades, the Tri Community and Youth Agency
has provided a wide variety of educational, recreational, social,
cultural, athletic, counseling and advocacy programs, and worked closely
with businesses, school districts, law enforcement, community groups,
government agencies and other local organizations; and

WHEREAS, Courtney Bynoe earned her Bachelor of Business Management
degree from Farmingdale State College; she furthered her education by
obtaining her master's degree in Human Services Leadership from St.
Joseph's College; and

WHEREAS, At the young age of 23, Courtney Bynoe joined the staff of
the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce in 2009; she was quickly
promoted to the position of Membership Coordinator where she developed a
strong background in forming collaborations with partner organizations;
and

WHEREAS, In 2010, Courtney Bynoe became the staff liaison to the
Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce's Young Professionals Committee;
in this position, she has been instrumental in procuring donations for
local not-for-profit organizations; and

WHEREAS, Courtney Bynoe was also a member of Business and
Professional Woman (BPW) International where she served as President of
BPW Suffolk as well as their Young BPW North America Representative; in
this role, she traveled to both Italy and Puerto Rico to represent the
region at international conferences; and

WHEREAS, Since June of 2016, Courtney Bynoe has served as the
Associate Executive Director of the Chamber; in this capacity, she

organizes and manages 70-plus events a year including four major
fundraisers; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her distinguished career, Courtney Bynoe has
been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades for her steadfast
and unremitting commitment to her community; after graduating from the
Leadership Huntington program in 2013, she received its Outstanding
Community Trustees Award the following year; and

WHEREAS, In 2013, Courtney Bynoe was also named a Celebrate Long
Island's Young Professionals Honoree, and in 2016, she was recognized as
a Diversity in Business Honoree by the Long Island Business News, and a
Hats off to Women Honoree by the Guardian Brain Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Courtney Bynoe is actively
involved with many worthy organizations including School Business
Partnership Long Island, the Huntington Historical Society, and the
Joseph Toles Foundation; in addition, she helped create the Family and
Children's Association; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Courtney Bynoe upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Tri Community and Youth Agency; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Courtney Bynoe.
