COMMENDING Rubin Berlinerblau, M.D. upon the
occasion of his designation for special honor at
Doctor's Recognition Day on March 29, 2017

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
individuals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of others;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Rubin Berlinerblau, M.D. upon the occasion of his designation
for special honor by the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc.,
the Academy of Medicine of Brooklyn and the Richmond County Medical
Society, to be celebrated at its Doctor's Recognition Day on Wednesday,
March 29, 2017, at Gargiulo's Restaurant, Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Rubin Berlinerblau graduated from the University of Paris,
France in 1955; he followed as Foreign Assistant in Adult and Pediatric
Cardiology for five years, and was Board Certified by the French Board
of Cardiology; and

WHEREAS, After immigrating to the United States in 1965, Dr. Rubin
Berlinerblau served for a short time as head of the Heart Station at the
Maimonides Medical Center (MMC), before moving to a Cardiology Private
Practice; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Rubin Berlinerblau served as Attending in Cardiology in
MMC and a Visiting Consultant at Downstate Medical Center (DMC) in
Brooklyn, as well as a Visiting Consultant and Clinical Professor of
Medicine; and

WHEREAS, Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine
and the French Board of Cardiology, Dr. Rubin Berlinerblau is a Fellow
of the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology,
American College of Chest Physician, the Geriatric Society of America,
as well as a member of many other professional societies; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Rubin Berlinerblau has authored several scientific
articles, including "Chaotic Atrial Rhythm" (1972), and the first study
of Post-Prandial Angina, which was published in the American Journal of
Cardiology in 1994; and

WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, Dr. Rubin
Berlinerblau was named Physician of the Year by the ALEH Foundation and
Top New York Physician in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Rubin Berlinerblau has served as President of the
Medical Staff at MMC as well as President of the Medical Society of the
County of Kings (MSCK); in addition, with a special interest in
Continued Medical Education (CME), he served for 15 years as Chairman of
the CME Committee at MMC, and intermittently in the MSCK; and


WHEREAS, Currently on the Board of Trustees for MSCK, Dr. Rubin
Berlinerblau also serves as a member of the Medical Society of the State
of New York's (MSSNY) CME Committee and its Survey Subcommittee; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of nearly 60 years,
Laurette, and their two children, as well as four grandchildren, all of
whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his
achievements; and

WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of his duties and
responsibilities, Dr. Rubin Berlinerblau's ongoing efforts and notable
achievements have significantly contributed to bettering the quality of
life in his community; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Dr. Rubin Berlinerblau has
continuously displayed initiative and an unrelenting commitment when
pursuing the highest of goals, and he has served as a role model of
leadership to be emulated by all; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Rubin Berlinerblau, M.D. upon the occasion of his designation
for special honor at Doctor's Recognition Day on March 29, 2017; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rubin Berlinerblau, M.D.
