HONORING the Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the
Sea Council No. 4752 upon the occasion of earning
the distinction of Star Council

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those fraternal organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishments whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of
the citizens of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
the Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No. 4752 upon the
occasion of earning the distinction of Star Council; this momentous
occasion was celebrated on Thursday, March 16, 2017; and

WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic
organization with more than 1.7 million members worldwide in over 14,000
Councils throughout the world; it is dedicated to working for the
Catholic Church, community, and fellow man; and

WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No.
4752 has received the distinction of Star Council, the organization's
top award for overall excellence in the areas of membership, promotion
of the fraternal insurance program, and sponsorship of service-oriented
activities; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award is not only a reflection of this
council and its members, but is a testament to the wonderful spirit of
community in the Town of Grand Island; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea
Council No. 4752 is in direct correlation to the efforts of its members,
whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, In so effectively carrying out its mission, the Knights of
Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No. 4752 has demonstrated the
value of fostering camaraderie in a shared vision of community service;
this mission is indicative of a noble organization which epitomizes the
heart and soul of what it means to be an American; and

WHEREAS, Organizations of singular distinction as the Knights of
Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No. 4752 provide a model for
enhancing the quality of life in the community and, as such, merit the
grateful praise of the community of the State of New York; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No. 4752 upon
the occasion of earning the distinction of Star Council; and be it
further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No.
4752, Grand Island, New York.
