CONGRATULATING Andrew Helms upon the occasion of
receiving the distinguished Gold Medal of
Achievement, the most prestigious honor bestowed
upon an individual by the Royal Rangers
WHEREAS, Andrew Helms, through his diligence and rigorous efforts,
has achieved the most prestigious honor bestowed upon an individual by
the Royal Rangers, the Gold Medal of Achievement; the Royal Rangers Gold
Court of Honor ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the
Evangel Assembly of God, Williamsville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Helms has been a member of Royal Rangers Outpost at
the Evangel Assembly of God in Williamsville, New York, since 2009; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Williamsville East High School, Andrew Helms is
active in church, school and sports; he has accepted an appointment at
the United States Air Force Academy; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, The Royal Rangers and its members are dedicated to the
development of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, The highest achievement of leadership in the Royal Rangers
program is the distinguished Gold Medal of Achievement; the trail to
this auspicious award is filled with adventure and hard work aimed at
completing a host of requirements established by the Royal Rangers'
National Office; 15 merits, 4 leadership merits each requiring a 3 hour
service project, and a capstone project; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Helms' perseverance in rising through the ranks of
the Royal Rangers program is a strong indication of his ability to
master difficult tasks; his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as
a leader, fully equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex
society; and
WHEREAS, This Royal Rangers Gold Medal of Achievement honoree is a
credit to his family, his school, his community, his State and his
Nation, and no doubt his future will be filled with accomplishments of
equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Andrew Helms on attaining the Gold Medal of
Achievement; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Andrew Helms.
