HONORING Laura Pantano upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Excellence in
Nursing Senior Year Award by Elmira College

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, honoring the students of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Laura Pantano upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Excellence in Nursing Senior Year Award by Elmira College; this
momentous occasion was celebrated during the Annual Nurse Pinning
Ceremony in Speidel Gymnasium; and

WHEREAS, A young woman of singular distinction, Laura Pantano has
distinguished herself as a young woman of superlative ability,
establishing a high standard of academic excellence and purposefulness
of life rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, Laura Pantano, through her diligence and rigorous efforts,
has successfully completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Science
degree in Nursing; and

WHEREAS, In achieving this high academic honor, Laura Pantano may
take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; and

WHEREAS, As Laura Pantano takes her leave of Elmira College, she
bequeaths a legacy of academic achievement, school involvement and
community service to which others may aspire; and

WHEREAS, Laura Pantano stands poised on the threshold of a broad and
challenging world; a testament to the love and nurturing care of her
family, friends and school; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to honor Laura Pantano a
young woman and able scholar, recognizing the value of her labors and
the promise of her future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Laura Pantano upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Excellence in Nursing Senior Year Award by Elmira College; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Laura Pantano.
