HONORING Fredrick Erlich upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Anschel Weiss
Community Builder Award by Jewish Family Services on
October 19, 2017

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Fredrick
Erlich upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Anschel
Weiss Community Builder Award by Jewish Family Services, to be
celebrated on Thursday, October 19, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Fredrick Erlich is being recognized with this auspicious
award in recognition of his commitment to serve humanity with humility
and for his outstanding contributions to making our world a better
place; and

WHEREAS, A passionate advocate for individuals and families,
Fredrick Erlich is founder and CEO of Living Resources, a not-for-profit
health and human services agency that serves more than 2,000 people
across 14 programs throughout the Capital Region; and

WHEREAS, Fredrick Erlich founded this agency in 1974, as an
organization committed to maintaining a continuum of services which
addresses the full range of needs experienced by individuals with
intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and traumatic
brain injuries; and

WHEREAS, In 2016, Fredrick Erlich received the Excellence in Public
Service Award from the University at Albany Alumni Association; he is
also the proud recipient of The Bishop Hubbard Award for promoting and
creating services for people with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Fredrick Erlich has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is theintent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Fredrick Erlich, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Fredrick Erlich upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Anschel Weiss Community Builder Award by Jewish Family Services
on October 19, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Fredrick Erlich.
