Senate Resolution No. 4267

COMMENDING Dr. Charles Episalla upon the occasion
of his induction into the SUNY Sullivan Hall of Fame
on March 16, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
individuals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of others;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its
long-standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
commend Dr. Charles Episalla upon the occasion of his induction into the
SUNY Sullivan Hall of Fame to be celebrated at a Ceremony on Friday,
March 16, 2018, in Harold Gold Founders Hall at SUNY Sullivan, Loch
Sheldrake, New York; and

WHEREAS, Since 1991, Dr. Charles "Chip" Episalla has served as a
great athletic patron and supporter of the SUNY Sullivan Generals; and

WHEREAS, After moving to Sullivan County, Dr. Charles Episalla
offered his support to the SUNY Sullivan Athletic Department; throughout
his 27 years of service, he has strived to keep the Generals healthy and
safe, which has led the teams to great success; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Charles Episalla is always available for athlete
consultations, and takes great pride in offering the best medical advice
for the students he has come to know and admire; he has helped numerous
students return to the field or court after devastating injuries and has
diligently worked to maintain their long-term health; and

WHEREAS, Through Dr. Charles Episalla's unremitting commitment and
strong influence, he was instrumental in bringing the NJCAA National
Basketball Tournament to SUNY Sullivan in 2011; and

WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of his duties and
responsibilities, Dr. Charles Episalla's ongoing efforts and notable
achievements have significantly contributed to bettering the quality of
life in the SUNY Sullivan athletic community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations with
praise and pride to commend Dr. Charles Episalla upon the occasion of
his induction into the SUNY Sullivan Hall of Fame on March 16, 2018; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Charles Episalla.
