HONORING John Garigliano upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals
Award by the Sullivan County Democrat

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
John Garigliano upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a
Young Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat; and

WHEREAS, John Garigliano was selected for this esteemed honor in
recognition of his hard work, ambition, and creativity, as well as for
his profound impact in and around the community of Sullivan County; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from Tri-Valley High School, John
Garigliano studied economics at Auburn University; he then returned to
Sullivan County where he joined his family's maple syrup production
business on their 800-acre farm in Grahamsville, New York; and

WHEREAS, For the past 10 years, John Garigliano has served as
President of the Catskill Mountain Sugar House which sells syrup to not
only locals of the area, but to people throughout the United States and
to countries all over the world; and

WHEREAS, Each year, tap season starts around the first of the year
and continues until late March or early April; John Garigliano, and his
hardworking staff collect sap from approximately 60,000 maple trees; and

WHEREAS, The first one to work and the last one to leave, John
Garigliano sometimes works 100 days straight at the farm; when he can
get away, he enjoys hunting and fishing; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor John Garigliano upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of a Young Professionals Award by the Sullivan County Democrat; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to John Garigliano.
