CONGRATULATING Carol Ryan upon the occasion of her
retirement after 44 years of distinguished public
service to the Town and Village of New Hartford
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its
citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Carol Ryan upon the occasion of her retirement after 44
years of distinguished public service to the Town and Village of New
Hartford, to be celebrated with a party in her honor on Wednesday, May
30, 2018, at Orchard Hall Restaurant, Sauquoit, New York; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of New Hartford, Carol Ryan attended
St. John the Evangelist School and New Hartford Central High School;
and
WHEREAS, Carol Ryan began her renowned career in public service in
1974, as Village Clerk for Mayor John Kazanjian; she went on to serve as
Executive Secretary to six Town Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Carol Ryan has also worked at the Savings Bank
of Utica, and as Assistant to the teachers at New Hartford School; and
WHEREAS, A true pillar in her community, Carol Ryan served as First
Lady of the Village of New Hartford when her husband was elected Mayor
in 2003; and
WHEREAS, For more than four decades, Carol Ryan rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Town and Village of New
Hartford, earning her the admiration, esteem and affection of her
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Carol Ryan over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication
to others; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Donald, and
their three children, Tom, Karen and Mike, as well as 10 grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren, who have all shown her love and support and
rejoice in her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Carol Ryan upon the occasion of her retirement after 44
years of distinguished public service to the Town and Village of New
Hartford; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Carol Ryan.
