COMMENDING Susan Seinfeld upon the occasion of her
retirement after 13 years of distinguished service
to Queens Community Board No. 11

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its
citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Susan Seinfeld upon the occasion of her retirement after 13
years of distinguished service to Queens Community Board No. 11; and

WHEREAS, A graduate of Queens College, Susan Seinfeld went on to
earn her Master's degree in Social Work from Fordham University; and

WHEREAS, Susan Seinfeld began her illustrious career in public
service working for Congressman Benjamin Rosenthal, where she was
responsible for helping constituents throughout the Flushing community;
and

WHEREAS, A resident of Floral Park, Susan Seinfeld later served as
Director of Constituent and Community Services with former City
Councilmember Sheldon Leffler for seven years; and

WHEREAS, Susan Seinfeld has served Queens Community Board No. 11 for
more than a decade; as District Manager she coordinates the agency's
public meetings, holds monthly meetings with city representatives and
attends various meetings on behalf of the Board; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Susan Seinfeld gives tirelessly of her time and energies
organizing flu vaccine clinics for children with St. Mary's Hospital,
collecting Toys for Tots with the United States Marine Corps Reserves,
and sponsoring VIN etching events with the 111th Police Precinct; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Susan Seinfeld sponsored toy drives, gifts for
veterans, and participated in Eyes of the Needy with the Lions Club of
Little Neck; and

WHEREAS, A woman of true integrity, Susan Seinfeld leads by example;
she has served the Community Board with distinction, enthusiasm,
dedication and honor, and has overseen hundreds of projects that have
made Queens a better and stronger place to live; and

WHEREAS, For the past 13 years, Susan Seinfeld rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Queens Community Board No. 11,
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Susan Seinfeld over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Susan Seinfeld upon the occasion of her retirement after 13
years of distinguished service to Queens Community Board No. 11; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Susan Seinfeld.
