CONGRATULATING the Skyliners Synchronized Skating
Team upon the occasion of capturing the 2019
National Junior Championship on March 1, 2019

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be
achieved only through strenuous practice, team play and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team upon the occasion of capturing the
2019 National Junior Championship, after a stellar free skate
performance set to "Carmen"; and

WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, the New
York Skyliners earned a combined total of 202.48 points, defeating the
South Carolina Starlights by 10.53 points to capture their third Gold
Medal at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan; and

WHEREAS, With this monumental win, the Skyliners earned an automatic
bid to the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships which
were held March 15-16, 2019, in Neuchatel, Switzerland; representing the
United States, the Skyliners proudly brought home a Bronze Medal; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as synchronized skating, which demands
athletic prowess, speed and agility, Head Coach Josh Babb and Assistant
Coach Pam May worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team,
teaching these outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable
both on and off the ice; and

WHEREAS, Coach Josh Babb and all of the outstanding athletes on the
Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team have clearly utilized dedication,
determination and teamwork in providing a lasting contribution to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their club; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team:
Alyssa Politoski, Tracy Wang, and Amie Adjakple; Head Coach Josh Babb;
Assistant Coach Pam May; Team Manager Jen Sais; and Line Mom Joy
Marshall upon the occasion of capturing the 2019 National Junior
Championship on March 1, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team;
Head Coach Josh Babb; Assistant Coach Pam May; Team Manager Jen Sais;
and Line Mom Joy Marshall.
