COMMENDING Resilient Young Minds, Inc. upon the
occasion of hosting its Annual Gala: The Hero in Me
on June 27, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Resilient Young Minds, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its
Annual Gala: The Hero in Me on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at The Elite
Space, Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Resilient Young Minds, Inc. (RYM) is a non-profit
organization in Brooklyn, New York, which aims to cultivate the minds of
at risk youth ages 13-17 into resilient ones; and

WHEREAS, Through mentor advisement, peer support groups, personal
development workshops and enrichment, Resilient Young Minds, Inc.
strives to enhance the ability of adolescents to achieve self-efficacy
despite difficult or traumatic experiences; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Resilient Young Minds, Inc. promotes the
development of healthy young minds, bodies and souls; and

WHEREAS, This vital organization is truly committed to igniting the
potential of its youth, positioning them for long term success as
leaders in the community; its free programs and services include
development workshops, bonding events, peer/team mentoring, an overnight
bus trip to the African American Museum in Washington, D.C., and a three
day all-inclusive Yes Academy Conference in Dipskill, New York; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, Resilient Young Minds, Inc.
has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities
which it serves; and

WHEREAS, The success of Resilient Young Minds, Inc. is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its dedicated staff, whose involvement is,
and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves;
and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Resilient Young Minds,
Inc.; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Resilient Young Minds, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its
Annual Gala: The Hero in Me on June 27, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Resilient Young Minds, Inc.
