COMMENDING LaTayvia Brown upon the occasion of
being named a 2019 Hall of Fame Honoree by Making
the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend LaTayvia Brown upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall of
Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc., to be celebrated
at its 8th Annual Power of Partnerships, Scholarship and Hall of Fame
Gala on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the BRIC Arts Media, Brooklyn, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, Making the Impossible Possible, Inc.
(MIPO) is a non-profit membership organization, promoting the quality of
life of Haitian youth in the United States and abroad through education,
music, character building, medical care, apprenticeship training, family
support and scholarships; and
WHEREAS, Founder & Visionary of Professionally Inspired, LLC,
LaTayvia Brown was raised in Astoria, in Queens; with the help of her
family, she was able to beat statistics and be the first in her
immediate family to graduate from college; and
WHEREAS, By creating her own self-affirmations, LaTayvia Brown was
able to overcome low self-esteem and grow into the woman she was
destined to be; today, she is a successful writer and motivational
speaker; her goal is to educate and empower the next generation to make
a positive impact in the lives of their own peers; and
WHEREAS, As the writer of You Were Created to Lead, a
self-affirmation poster, LaTayvia Brown has guided the next generation
on how to tap into their inner self, find the leader they were called to
be, and become an effective positive leader; she has over eight years'
experience in workforce and student develop; and
WHEREAS, LaTayvia Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Long
Island University and was trained by the Workforce Professionals
Training Institute in job coaching, the HDS Consulting, Inc. in
leadership skills, and the City University of New York in academic
advisement; and
WHEREAS, She is a certified mental health first aid by the New York
City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; she is also a member of
the National Speakers Association and Black Business Women Rock Network;
and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
LaTayvia Brown, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend LaTayvia Brown upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall of
Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to LaTayvia Brown.
