COMMENDING Gaye H. Anderson upon the occasion of
being named a 2019 Hall of Fame Honoree by Making
the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Gaye H. Anderson upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall of
Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc., to be celebrated
at its 8th Annual Power of Partnerships, Scholarship and Hall of Fame
Gala on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the BRIC Arts Media, Brooklyn, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, Making the Impossible Possible, Inc.
(MIPO) is a non-profit membership organization, promoting the quality of
life of Haitian youth in the United States and abroad through education,
music, character building, medical care, apprenticeship training, family
support and scholarships; and

WHEREAS, Gaye H. Anderson is a Manager in the Community Engagement
Department at Healthfirst, one of the leading health insurance plans in
New York City, Long Island, and Westchester; and

WHEREAS, As a member of the Community Engagement Team for over 15
years, Gaye H. Anderson has proven to be a very resourceful, meticulous
and diligent worker who is willing to serve and assist in the
underserved communities; in so doing, she has created, developed and
supported these communities by being involved in health and wellness
activities which include: nutritional workshops, educational seminars,
Healthfirst Healthy Villages in Brooklyn and the Bronx, Health and
Wellness Expos, and Town Hall Meetings on health issues to name a few;
and

WHEREAS, Gaye H. Anderson is a Certified Peer Leader in Chronic
Disease Self-Management, Stanford University Model and has completed the
Mental Health First Aid Training sponsored by the New York City
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; and

WHEREAS, A strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the
workplace, Gaye H. Anderson encourages her team to believe in
themselves, to be the best they can be, as only the best is good enough
and that nothing beats a trial but a failure; and

WHEREAS, When not in the workplace, Gaye H. Anderson enjoys spending
time with her husband, Kevin, son, Kevin Jr, daughter, Monique, and her
dog, Holly; she also enjoys running, competing in 5k challenges, and is
an avid reader of mystery novels; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Gaye H. Anderson, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Gaye H. Anderson upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall of
Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gaye H. Anderson.
