COMMENDING The Honorable Mae A. D'Agostino upon
the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Honorable Edward S. Conway Judicial Excellence
Award by the Capital District Trial Lawyers
Association on June 19, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend The Honorable Mae A. D'Agostino upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Honorable Edward S. Conway Judicial
Excellence Award by the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association to be
celebrated at its Annual Dinner and Meeting on Wednesday, June 19, 2019,
at the Italian American Community Center, Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Each year, this auspicious award is presented to
commemorate Judge Conway's integrity, dedication to the fair
administration of justice and the energy with which he delivered it, his
timeliness, respectful treatment of members of the bar, humility, and
compassion for all those who appeared before him; and

WHEREAS, Mae Avila D'Agostino is a United States District Judge for
the Northern District of New York; at the time of her appointment in
2011, she was a trial attorney with the law firm of D'Agostino,
Krackeler, Maguire & Cardona, PC.; and

WHEREAS, A 1977 magna cum laude graduate of Siena College, Mae A.
D'Agostino was a member of its women's basketball team; she went on to
earn her Juris Doctor degree in May of 1980 from Syracuse University
College of Law, where she was awarded the International Academy of Trial
Lawyers Award for distinguished achievement in the art and science of
advocacy; and

WHEREAS, Upon the completion of her studies, Mae A. D'Agostino began
her illustrious career as a trial attorney; in this capacity, she has
tried numerous civil cases including medical malpractice, products
liability, negligence, and civil assault; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
profession, Judge Mae A. D'Agostino is a past chair of the Trial Lawyers
Section of the New York State Bar Association and is a member of the
International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American College of Trial
Lawyers; and

WHEREAS, Judge Mae A. D'Agostino has participated in numerous
Continuing Legal Education programs and is an Adjunct Professor at
Albany Law School where she teaches Medical Malpractice; and

WHEREAS, A past member of the Siena College Board of Trustees and
Albany Law School Board of Trustees, Judge Mae A. D'Agostino is a member
of the New York State Bar Association and Albany County Bar Association;
and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Judge Mae A. D'Agostino has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The Honorable Mae A. D'Agostino upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Honorable Edward S. Conway Judicial
Excellence Award by the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Honorable Mae A. D'Agostino.
