COMMENDING Project Hope Charities upon the
occasion of hosting its 10th Annual Community Health
Fair on June 29, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Project Hope Charities upon the occasion of hosting its 10th
Annual Community Health Fair on Saturday, June 29, 2019, in Jamaica, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Project Hope Charities is a New York State non-profit
organization dedicated to community service through raising health
awareness, youth empowerment, hunger eradication and educational
empowerment; and

WHEREAS, This vital organization was born out of a passion for
bridging the gap, empowering and transforming the lives of people in the
underserved Jamaica, New York community, and facilitating personal
growth by providing resources to those who have need of on-going support
through difficult circumstances; and

WHEREAS, Its Annual Community Health Fair serves as a means of
providing information on important health-related issues and educating
the public about products and services which enhance physical and
emotional well-being; and

WHEREAS, During these annual events, free food, clothing,
educational and back to school materials as well as household supplies
are provided; an average of 1,000 people including children attend and
receive the help they need for their advancement and personal
well-being; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Project Hope Charities organizes health
education classes, which include HIV education, sexually transmitted
diseases, childhood obesity and preventative care; and

WHEREAS, Through Project Hope Charities' Health Fair, at-risk
children, teenagers, young adults and elderly receive referrals to the
appropriate agencies for Food Stamps, Youth Education, Health Care, GED,
ESL and a host of other services; and

WHEREAS, The success of Project Hope Charities is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its President/CEO Chukwudi Ozo-Onyali,
whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Project Hope Charities upon the occasion of hosting its 10th
Annual Community Health Fair on June 29, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Chukwudi Ozo-Onyali, MD, President/CEO, Project Hope
Charities.
