MOURNING the death of Patricia L. Bissonette,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of her
community
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to convey its
grateful appreciation and heartfelt regret in recognition of the loss of
courageous individuals who dedicated their purposeful lives and careers
to serve and protect; and
WHEREAS, Patricia L. Bissonette of Buffalo, New York, died on
January 4, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to protecting and serving her community, Patricia
L. Bissonette, known to friends and family as Patti, faithfully served
the Town of Hamburg since her appointment in April of 2007, as a
Dispatcher and Communications Training Officer; and
WHEREAS, Prior to joining the Hamburg Police Department, Patricia L.
Bissonette worked as a Senior Dispatcher for the City of Buffalo Police
Department; she began her dispatching career with Twin City Ambulance,
serving as a Dispatch Supervisor and Emergency Medical Technician; and
WHEREAS, Patricia L. Bissonette distinguished herself in her
profession and by her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to
the welfare of her community; and
WHEREAS, The loving daughter of the late Carol and George
Bissonette; Patricia L. Bissonette is survived by a dear sister, Susan
(Mike); and three nieces, Christina (Craig), Katie (Philip), and Lisa
(Logan); two uncles, John, and Herb (Diane); and cousins, Vincent
(Melissa), Joseph, Debbie (Ric), Naylon, and Scott (Jeanne); in addition
to many other loving relatives and friends; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Patricia L. Bissonette leaves behind a legacy which will
long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory
to all she served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Patricia L. Bissonette, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of her community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Patricia L. Bissonette.
