HONORING Gregg Biche upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Citizen of the Year
Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce on April
11, 2019
WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of individuals such as Gregg Biche who uphold the values of
community life and who, through their great actions, epitomize the best
of humanity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Gregg Biche
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Citizen of the
Year Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce to be celebrated at its
34th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Normanside
Country Club, Delmar, New York; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award recognizes Gregg Biche for the many
contributions he has made to the quality of life in the Bethlehem
community; and
WHEREAS, Gregg Biche has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Currently on the Board of Advisors for YMCA Camp
Chingachogook, Gregg Biche has served as a coach for Tomboys Softball
League and as a volunteer for the Delaware Avenue Improvement District;
and
WHEREAS, In addition, this extraordinary man donated labor and
materials to Eagle Elementary School to expand its playground; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
community, Gregg Biche has also sponsored countless organizations and
events, including the Tri-Village Little League, BC Hockey, BC Community
Foundation, Best Buddies Friendship Walk, Play It Forward 518, Catholic
Charities, BC School Supply Drive, IFOPA, Schenectady Ring of Hope, Lake
George Association, BPW Cheer, The Cue Theatre, and First Night
Bethlehem; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Gregg Biche has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Gregg Biche has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gregg Biche upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Citizen of the Year Award by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce on
April 11, 2019; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gregg Biche.
