Assembly Resolution No. 682

HONORING Jeff Allen upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2019 Geneseean of
the Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of
Commerce on March 7, 2019

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jeff Allen
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2019 Geneseean
of the Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce, to be
celebrated at its 47th Annual Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 7,
2019, at the Quality Inn & Suites in Batavia, New York; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Allen is receiving this auspicious award for his
demonstrated love for and commitment to Genesee County; and

WHEREAS, After an illustrious career with the Department of
Corrections which traversed 25 years, Jeff Allen took a position as
Executive Director with Crossroads House, a comfort care home located in
Batavia, New York, for those who have a terminal illness and have been
medically determined to be in the last three months of life; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
community, Jeff Allen, along with his wife Darla, also volunteers at
Care-A-Van Ministries, packing bags of food for those in need; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Jeff Allen has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Jeff Allen, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jeff Allen upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2019 Geneseean of the Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of
Commerce on March 7, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jeff Allen.
