COMMEMORATING the 20th Anniversary of the Rome
Community Foundation on October 23, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who are devoted to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Rome Community Foundation, to be
celebrated with a reception followed by a program in the Capitol Arts
Complex in Rome, New York, on Wednesday, October 23, 2019; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious event pays tribute to those individuals who
have made a difference in the lives of the people who live in the Rome
area by making significant contributions to their community through
their donations, time and actions; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1999, the Rome Community Foundation
addresses the emerging needs of community non-profit organizations and
gives individuals a better way to donate to the well-being of the
citizens of the Greater Rome area; and

WHEREAS, The Rome Community Foundation continues to manage assets
and proceeds which are used to raise funds exclusively for the needs of
the area institutions and the people they serve; and

WHEREAS, Today, under the luminous leadership of President David
Grow; Vice Presidents, David Engelbert and Lynn Rosen; Secretary, Julie
Grow Denton; Treasurer, Robert Ritz; and Executive Director, Victor
Fariello, the Rome Community Foundation remains committed to following
its mission of helping to provide for the betterment of life and
improvement of the citizens of the Greater Rome community; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention
to organizations such as the Rome Community Foundation which serves to
bring people together for the united purpose of actively pursuing
improvements in their communities; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the Rome Community Foundation upon the occasion of
celebrating its 20th Anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to David Grow, President, Rome Community Foundation.
