Senate Resolution No. 1417

COMMENDING the Doric Lodge No. 53, Most Worshipful
Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons
of the State of New York upon the occasion of
hosting its Night of Elegance Event on April 23,
2022

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Doric Lodge No. 53, Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge,
Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York, upon the occasion of
hosting its Night of Elegance Event on Saturday, April 23, 2022; and

WHEREAS, The dedicated Masons of Doric Lodge No. 53 are men with a
social conscience and a charitable perspective, also known as
Freemasons; it is a fraternal organization that shares common moral
ideals and esoteric values and is based on the doctrine of Brotherly
Love, Relief and Truth; and

WHEREAS, The only Prince Hall Masonic Lodge within Nassau County,
the Masons of Doric Lodge No. 53 have truly demonstrated continuous
service to the residents and communities which it serves; and

WHEREAS, Established on July 3, 1916, by a group of like-minded
young men, the club received its charter in 1917 from the Most
Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Most Ancient and Honorable Fraternity of
Free and Accepted Masons, State of New York and Osceola Bulamar of
Westbury, New York, was voted in as Worshipful Master; and

WHEREAS, On October 1, 1921, Doric Lodge was warranted under the
Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the State of New York, with
Grand Master David W. Parker residing; and

WHEREAS, On January 21, 1975, Emurray Clopton, under the
administration of Worshipful Master Emurray Clopton, withdrew $11,000
from the building account, and the brothers loaned the lodge $9,000 by
purchasing certificates to pay the $20,000 required for the purchasing
of their present home at 95 Westbury Boulevard in Hempstead, New York;
and

WHEREAS, The success of Doric Lodge No. 53 is in direct correlation
to the efforts of Worshipful Master Brother Lloyd Eason and its members,
whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor and commend
the members of Doric Lodge No. 53, Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand

Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, past and present, who have labored so
conscientiously to secure and improve the quality of life for the
community it serves; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Doric Lodge No. 53, Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge,
Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York upon the occasion of
hosting its Night of Elegance Event; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Worshipful Master, Brother Lloyd Eason, Doric Lodge No.
53, Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons of
the State of New York.
