HONORING Joseph Gonzales upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Young Entrepreneur
of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce on March 3, 2022

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Joseph Gonzales upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its 49th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday,
March 3, 2022, at Samuel's Grande Manor in Clarence, New York; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Gonzales is receiving this prestigious award for his
steadfast and unremitting commitment to his Clarence community; and

WHEREAS, At the young age of eight, Joseph Gonzales began picking
strawberries at Ken Spoth's Family Farm in Clarence; eventually, he
worked himself up to the retail farm stand where he enjoyed working with
the public; as his interest in farming and retail sales grew, he decided
to make jams and jellies to sell to local stores; and

WHEREAS, As more and more people discovered his delicious jams and
jellies, Joseph Gonzales opened his own produce stand on Main Street at
the age of 17; today, Joe's Farm Market continues to flourish, and his
wares are so popular he had to outsource production of his trademark jam
to his Amish partners; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Gonzales, known to his customers as "Jammin Joe"
then purchased Pop-in-Bob's Kettle Corn business and ever since, he has
sold his products at various fairs and festivals throughout Western New
York; ever evolving, he opened The Depot Pizzeria in Clarence in the
Spring of 2020; and

WHEREAS, By his side is his wife Emily, who feels privileged to be a
part of his life and rejoices in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Joseph Gonzales upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce on March 3, 2022; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Joseph Gonzales.
