CONGRATULATING Paul Rosenberg upon the occasion of
his retirement after serving three consecutive terms
as Mayor of the Village of Rye Brook, New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals of outstanding purpose whose lives have been
committed to public service and the pursuit of excellence in the conduct
of the legislative process in this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing tradition, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Paul Rosenberg upon the occasion of his retirement after
serving three consecutive terms as Mayor of the Village of Rye Brook,
New York; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Paul Rosenberg studied at Carnegie Mellon University,
then received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and
Management from Adelphi University; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife Deborah Rosenberg
and their two children, Julia and David, all of whom feel privileged to
be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, Paul Rosenberg began his illustrious 18-year career with
the Village of Rye Brook in May of 2003, when he was elected as a
trustee; after serving as Deputy Mayor from 2008-2013, he was elected to
the esteemed title of Mayor, the position from which he will officially
retire on March 22, 2022; and

WHEREAS, In his official acts, Mayor Paul Rosenberg was governed by
a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems;
and

WHEREAS, Among many notable achievements, Mayor Paul Rosenberg
introduced multiple sustainability initiatives such as Solarize Rye
Brook, food waste composting, healthy yards, and Green Star Businesses;
he also oversaw construction of a new public park facility and the King
Street Athletic Fields; and

WHEREAS, The first of its kind in the State of New York, Mayor Paul
Rosenberg implemented a fiscal transparency program called ClearGov to
increase trust and accountability for the citizens of Rye Brook; and

WHEREAS, The Mayor also advocated for increased use of technology
throughout the Village Government, including cloud integration, to be
used in financial systems, the police force, and the village offices;
and

WHEREAS, Mayor Paul Rosenberg diligently guided his community
through various emergencies, such as the rises and falls of the COVID-19
pandemic and multiple severe weather storms, always ensuring the safety
of his citizens and stability of their local economy; and

WHEREAS, He streamlined the village code for residents and
businesses, supported a robust capital improvement program which led to
increased street resurfacing ratings, completed Rye Brook's first
Comprehensive Plan, brought in many new community events such as
Winterfest and food truck days, supported affordable housing projects,
brought financial strength and stability to the community, and achieved
the long-standing goal of Police Accreditation throughout his period of
supervision; and

WHEREAS, For the past 18 years, Mayor Paul Rosenberg rendered
faithful, conscientious and valuable service to the Village of Rye
Brook, truly earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his
colleagues; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Paul Rosenberg upon the occasion of his retirement after
serving three consecutive terms as Mayor of the Village of Rye Brook,
New York, and to wish him continued success in all his future endeavors;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mayor Paul Rosenberg.
