MOURNING the death of Mario Antonio Almonte,
loving father, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community

WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who,
through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better
the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive
impact on the lives of its residents; Mario Antonio Almonte was one such
individual; and

WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Mario Antonio Almonte, noting
the significance of his purposeful life and accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Mario Antonio Almonte died on February 11, 2022, at the age
of 56; and

WHEREAS, Born on October 22, 1965, in the Town of Jagua,
Janico-Santiago in the Dominican Republic, Mario Antonio Almonte
migrated to the United States in 1975, and lived in New York City for
most of his life; and

WHEREAS, In 2012, Mario Antonio Almonte moved to North Carolina,
where he lived a peaceful life; and

WHEREAS, A truly admired man, Mario Antonio Almonte was known for
his kindness, sincerity and humor; he was a dedicated father, overcoming
much adversity and always working hard to provide for his beloved
children; and

WHEREAS, Predeceased by his parents, Maria Generosa and Felipe
Antonio Almonte, Mario Antonio Almonte is survived by his five children,
Roxane, Elizabeth, Amy, Mario Junior and Hailey; two grandchildren,
Jacob and Jonalysse; and his siblings, Jose Felipe, Arsenio, Gladys,
Altagracia, Cristalia, Maria, Juan, Felix, Regina and Reynaldo; as well
as many loving nieces and nephews; and

WHEREAS, Mario Antonio Almonte's infinite selflessness and
benevolence will shine on through his family's vivid and happy memories;
his insight and strength will forever serve as a beacon of love, light
and hope to the countless lives he touched; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Mario Antonio Almonte leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
who were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man; he will
be deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Mario Antonio Almonte, and to express its deepest
condolences to his family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Mario Antonio Almonte.
