HONORING Nova Bus upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2022 Business of the
Year Award by the North Country Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Nova Bus upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the 2022
Business of the Year Award by the North Country Chamber of Commerce,
which was celebrated at its 110th Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, March
4, 2022, at the West Side Ballroom in Plattsburgh, New York; and

WHEREAS, Nova Bus, a bus manufacturer, is receiving this prestigious
award for its steadfast and unremitting commitment to its Plattsburgh,
New York, and North Country communities; and

WHEREAS, Nova Bus's Plattsburgh plant, located on Banker Road,
employs over 300 people and has helped bring business to the area by
producing diesel buses, hybrid buses, and the very popular LFSe+
electric buses for transit agencies in major cities across the country;
and

WHEREAS, Nova Bus has faced many challenges during the COVID-19
pandemic, however, it has continued to flourish, landing contracts with
Milwaukee, San Francisco and most recently Houston, which has put the
North Country on the map as a key player in the electrification of
transportation; and

WHEREAS, The remarkable success of Nova Bus is in direct correlation
to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the institution and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Nova Bus upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the
2022 Business of the Year Award by the North Country Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nova Bus.
