CONGRATULATING Christina Battalia, Town Clerk of
Mamaroneck, New York, upon the occasion of her
retirement after 17 years of service

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals of outstanding purpose whose lives have been
committed to public service and the pursuit of excellence in the conduct
of the legislative process in this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing tradition, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Christina Battalia, Town Clerk of Mamaroneck, upon the
occasion of her retirement after 17 years of distinguished public
service on Saturday, March 19, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Christina Battalia steadfastly served her hometown
community and its residents for 17 years, continuously utilizing her
creative talents to create a warm and welcoming gateway to the Town and
tirelessly striving to make her office the face of good government; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious career, Christina Battalia
tirelessly facilitated free and fair elections and crafted ways to make
Freedom of Information Law requests enjoyable to her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, Over years of hard work, Christina Battalia issued
thousands of permits and licenses and regularly responded to calls and
requests from residents in need of services; during the unprecedented
COVID-19 pandemic, she was instrumental in successfully issuing marriage
licenses to those in need and became known for marrying couples outside,
regardless of the weather; and

WHEREAS, During her tenure, Christina Battalia implemented the
innovative Laserfiche Electronic Management System to transform a room
full of collapsing files and disorganization into the exemplary Records
Room at the Town Center; and

WHEREAS, An admirable team player, Christina Battalia also took on
the duty of codifying the Town's Vehicle and Traffic laws, a task no one
else had the wherewithal to complete since the 1980s, and a job which
she executed impeccably; and

WHEREAS, Christina Battalia received the honor of becoming a
Certified Municipal Clerk from the International Institute of Municipal
Clerks (IIMC) and is a Registered Municipal Clerk with the New York
State Town Clerks Association; she was also a member of the Westchester
County Records Committee and a member of the New York State Archives
Records Advisory Council; and

WHEREAS, For 17 years, Christina Battalia rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Town of Mamaroneck, truly
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Christina Battalia upon the occasion of her retirement, and
to wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Christina Battalia.
