CONGRATULATING Art teacher Joseph Talerico upon
the occasion of his retirement after 46 years of
distinguished service as an educator

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of those outstanding
educational leaders, whose dedication and achievements have been
instrumental in developing character and academic excellence in the
young people of New York State; and

WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled;
its history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its
educational professionals and the students they inspire; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Art
teacher Joseph Talerico upon the occasion of his retirement after 46
years of distinguished service as an educator, and to wish him a very
Happy 70th Birthday to be celebrated with a party held in his honor at
Milano Restaurant in Utica, New York, with many family members and
friends in attendance; and

WHEREAS, The future success of our State and Nation is dependent
upon individuals such as Joseph Talerico, who have dedicated their lives
as educators, nurturing our most precious resource, our youth; and

WHEREAS, Born on April 2, 2022, 1952, Joseph Talerico has been an
educator for more than four decades; he began his illustrious career as
an art teacher within the Clinton Central School District from
1975-1981; from 1976-1995, he served as the Assistant Director of New
York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSA); and, since September 1,
1981, he was employed as the art teacher at Frankfort-Schuyler Central
School District, the position from which he officially retired on June
30, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Talerico has made incomparable contributions to
empowering and improving the well-being of his students; he remains a
source of inspiration and knowledge to all he has befriended, educated
and mentored; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Debi Talerico; his
daughter and son-in-law, Bridget and Charlie Parkosewich; and his son,
Joe Talerico; as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Peggi and John
Szuba, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice
in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, Educators like Joseph Talerico provide a tremendous service
to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of young
people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in their
future years; and

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who have worked to support our proud

tradition of public education by providing their skills and talents to
our schools; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Joseph Talerico upon the occasion of his retirement, and to
wish him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Joseph Talerico.
