HONORING Lieutenant Ron Fontaine upon the occasion
of his retirement after 22 years of distinguished
service to the New Hartford Police Department

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers who would devote themselves to public
service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing for the
care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this great
Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lieutenant
Ron Fontaine upon the occasion of his retirement after 22 years of
distinguished service to the New Hartford Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Ron Fontaine began his illustrious career with the New
Hartford Police Department in 2000; he climbed the ranks to become
Lieutenant, the esteemed position from which he will officially retire;
and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, Lieutenant Ron Fontaine oversaw the
patrol and investigative divisions of the agency, and was always
available, on or off duty, to assist these divisions whenever needed;
and

WHEREAS, Placing the needs of the officers and department ahead of
his own, Ron Fontaine kept the best interests of his fellow officers in
mind at all times, never hesitating to lend his assistance; and

WHEREAS, Involved in many major cases throughout his tenure,
Lieutenant Ron Fontaine, utilizing his vast knowledge and experience,
was instrumental in the successful prosecution of countless felons; and

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Ron Fontaine has been the recipient of numerous
awards and accolades, the most notable being the auspicious Medal of
Valor Award; and

WHEREAS, Under the seasoned leadership of Lieutenant Ron Fontaine,
the New Hartford Police Department excelled in every aspect of
professionalism in the field of law enforcement; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lieutenant Ron Fontaine upon the occasion of his retirement, and
to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lieutenant Ron Fontaine.
