COMMENDING Donald Mulligan upon the occasion of
celebrating his 50th season as a ski lift operator
at the Snow Ridge Ski Resort in Turin, New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
the significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed
residents of this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Donald Mulligan upon the occasion of celebrating his 50th season
as a ski lift operator at the Snow Ridge Ski Resort in Turin, New York;
and

WHEREAS, The Snow Ridge Ski Resort has had numerous chairlift
operators during its history, but only Donald Mulligan has lasted a half
century; and

WHEREAS, This exceptional employee has become a staple at Snow
Ridge, so much so, that he is now known on the mountain as "The Don";
and

WHEREAS, Donald Mulligan operates the Ridge Runner Chairlift,
helping skiers reach the peak of the 1,850-foot mountain; and

WHEREAS, There was a lift operator strike and someone told Donald
Mulligan to put his name in, and he did; that was five decades ago and
he has been there ever since; and

WHEREAS, Donald Mulligan is the face people see when they get on the
chair, and he is a great ambassador to have at the Snow Ridge Ski
Resort; and

WHEREAS, In his capacity as a ski lift operator, Donald Mulligan
serves with loyalty, honor and distinction, and is governed by a keen
sense of duty and always shows a unique grasp of human problems in his
official acts; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Donald Mulligan upon the occasion of celebrating his 50th season
as a ski lift operator at the Snow Ridge Ski Resort; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Donald Mulligan.
