COMMEMORATING the 25th Anniversary of the Chamber
Alliance of the Mohawk Valley

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk
Valley; and

WHEREAS, The Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk Valley was established
with seven members in 1997; today, this vital organization consists of
23 chambers of commerce and affiliate partners, which strive to
represent and promote the collective interests of the business community
of the Mohawk Valley, that geographic area which includes, but is not
limited to, Herkimer County, Oneida County, Madison County, Otesgo
County, Fulton County, and Montgomery County; and

WHEREAS, As an umbrella organization, the Chamber Alliance of the
Mohawk Valley diligently works to address concerns of the regional
business community including tourism, economic development, health care,
business/community promotion, education, and workforce development; and

WHEREAS, In January of 2021, the Genesis Group took over
administrative duties, and the Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk Valley
became a committee within the framework of Genesis; this partnership
provides more stability and a stronger organizational foundation, as
evidenced by the 25 virtual meetings and forums held over a 22-month
period during the pandemic on topics such as economic development,
healthcare, tourism, and education while maintaining an ongoing dialogue
with local, county, state, and national business groups and elected
officials in order to stay updated and informed on issues of importance
to employers; and

WHEREAS, The collaboration is truly benefiting the region's business
community, particularly during times of economic uncertainty filled with
both challenges and opportunities; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk Valley is
in direct correlation to the efforts of its Co-Chairs, Raymond J. Durso
Jr. and William K. Guglielmo; as well as its staff and members, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the institution and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the

recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk
Valley; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Raymond J. Durso Jr. and William K. Guglielmo, Co-Chairs,
Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk Valley.
