HONORING Lieutenant Deborah Stanton upon the
occasion of her retirement after 30 years of
distinguished service to the Oneida County Sheriff's
Office
WHEREAS, Law enforcement officers from the State of New York put
their lives on the line day in and day out for the citizens of this
great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers who would devote themselves to public
service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing for the
care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this great
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; Lieutenant
Deborah Stanton is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lieutenant
Deborah Stanton upon the occasion of her retirement after 30 years of
distinguished service to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office; and
WHEREAS, In 1991, Deborah Stanton began her career in the Oneida
County Sheriff's Office as a Correction Officer; she was then promoted
to Sergeant before earning the rank of Lieutenant, the esteemed position
from which she will retire; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious tenure, which spanned three
decades, Lieutenant Deborah Stanton truly epitomized the role and
accentuated the ideals of an outstanding community police officer; she
was instrumental in the Sherriff's Office Training Unit, Policies and
Procedures development and in Accreditation; she also had a positive
working relationship with the New York State Commission of Corrections;
and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous Grand Cordon and Good Conduct
awards and accolades throughout her distinguished career, Lieutenant
Deborah Stanton has received a multitude of departmental recognitions
for her outstanding service to the citizens of Oneida County; her
accomplishments are both numerous and notable; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lieutenant Deborah Stanton upon the occasion of her retirement,
and to wish her well in all her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lieutenant Deborah Stanton.
