CONGRATULATING Doug Kenyon upon the occasion of
being inducted into the New York State Athletic
Administrators Association Wall of Honor

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
individuals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of our
student athletes; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Doug Kenyon upon the occasion of being inducted into the
New York State Athletic Administrators Association Wall of Honor; and

WHEREAS, The New York State Athletic Administrators Association Wall
of Honor program pays tribute to outstanding retired former school
athletic administrators who have made significant contributions to the
interscholastic athletic programs in New York State; Doug Kenyon is
truly deserving of this recognition; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from Warrensburg High School, Doug Kenyon
earned his bachelor's degree from Ithaca College; and

WHEREAS, Doug Kenyon then began his long and distinguished career in
sports administration as both a basketball coach and Athletic Director
at Glens Falls High School before retiring in 2008; he also served as
the Director of the State Boys Basketball Tournament in Glens Falls,
from 1986-2016; and

WHEREAS, Doug Kenyon was a member of the Section II Executive
Committee and the New York State Public High School Athletic
Association's Central Committee for 18 years, and upon his retirement,
he held the position of Executive Director for the Section II Athletic
Council for eight years; and

WHEREAS, Doug Kenyon was also an active member of the NYSAAA for 30
years, and for his steadfast and unremitting commitment to his
student-athletes, he was the recipient of the 1996 Chapter 2 Athletic
Administrators Award; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Doug Kenyon upon the occasion of being inducted into the
New York State Athletic Administrators Association Wall of Honor; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Doug Kenyon.
