COMMENDING the New Rochelle Bar Association upon
the occasion of celebrating its 100th Anniversary
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to publicly
commend those individuals and associations which substantially
contribute to the well-being of the community by providing outstanding
legal service to those in need; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the New Rochelle Bar Association upon the occasion of
celebrating its 100th Anniversary on Wednesday, May 25, 2022; and
WHEREAS, The New Rochelle Bar Association (NRBA) is a voluntary
association of attorneys, law students and legal professionals; its
mission is advanced by an energetic and dedicated Board of Directors who
represent the valued diversity of the association; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1921, the New Rochelle Bar
Association has provided the highest quality legal services to
individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations, and municipalities
throughout the Westchester County Law Community; and
WHEREAS, Today, the NRBA continues to provide welcoming networking
opportunities and legal education close to work and home; its active
calendar includes dinner meetings featuring discussion about timely
legal topics or opportunities to meet members of its esteemed judiciary;
and
WHEREAS, In addition, Continuing Legal Education (CLE) provides
classes on topics spanning a wide range of practice areas as well as
section meetings which provide forums from its colleagues; and
WHEREAS, The New Rochelle Bar Association's deep-rooted culture of
collaboration, civility, and inclusion, with a strong emphasis on
community involvement, remains the foundation of its extraordinary
ability to learn from the past and embrace the changes of today; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, this vital association continues to contribute
to the local community by volunteering pro-bono services to countless
charities and non-profit organizations in each of the communities it
serves, and providing access to the justice system for some of its most
vulnerable populations; and
WHEREAS, Working to enhance the perception of the legal profession
while providing valued services, the New Rochelle Bar Association places
"Lawyers in the Classroom" at a number of New Rochelle public schools;
and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to its
community, the NRBA also provides students graduating from New Rochelle
High School, as well as those attending each of the local colleges, with
a scholarship to support their ability to explore the study of law; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 100-year history, the New Rochelle
Bar Association has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of the New Rochelle Bar Association is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its renowned attorneys and staff,
whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the firm and the
communities it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and institutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the New Rochelle Bar Association upon the occasion of
celebrating its 100th Anniversary, and to wish them continued success in
their vital work on behalf of their clients; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the New Rochelle Bar Association.
