CONGRATULATING Daniel M. Lin upon the occasion of
receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
most prestigious of Scouting honors, on June 4, 2022
WHEREAS, Through his diligence and rigorous efforts, Daniel M. Lin
has achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank, Eagle Scout;
the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 4,
2022, at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle, New York; and
WHEREAS, The son of James and Jeanne, Daniel M. Lin is a member of
Boy Scouts of America Troop 15, New Rochelle, New York; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of New Rochelle High School, this exceptional
young man was Captain of the Quiz Bowl team, participated on the swim
team, the Robotics Team, a member of both the Junior States of America
(JSA), and the National Honor Society, in addition, Daniel is also
fluent in Spanish, having been enrolled in the Children's International
Language Academy (CILA), a dual language program, from Kindergarten
through High School; and
WHEREAS, Daniel M. Lin is a life-long resident of New Rochelle; he
joined the Cub Scouts and New Rochelle Pack 15 in First Grade; he earned
his Arrow of Light and crossed over to the Boy Scouts and New Rochelle
Troop 15 in 2013; and
WHEREAS, While in Troop 15, Daniel filled several leadership
positions including Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Troop Instructor, and
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader; his most memorable Scouting experience
was a 5-day High Adventure Trek in the Adirondack Mountains during the
summer of 2019; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
community, Daniel M. Lin has given tirelessly of his time and energies
to provide service to others, establishing a high standard of excellence
and purposefulness of life rarely achieved in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination, and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, The highest achievement of leadership in Scouting, earned
by approximately five percent of all Boy Scouts, is the distinguished
rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has been involved in Scouting
for many years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has attained all
of the necessary achievements, including completion of a community
service project, which was successfully planned, developed and executed;
and
WHEREAS, For his project, Daniel M. Lin completed his Eagle Scout
Project which centered upon the Huguenot/Twin Lakes Park in New
Rochelle; he repaired and beautified this World War II U.S. Marine
Memorial and the surrounding areas by removing grime, mildew, and dirt;
and
WHEREAS, His dedication to the safety and well-being of the citizens
of Westchester County is represented through his project and
demonstrates his devotion to both community and commitment to others;
and
WHEREAS, As he goes forward in his academic career, Daniel M. Lin
attends the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and pursues a
degree in Computer Science and Linguistics while continuing with the
ideals and principles of the Boy Scouts; and
WHEREAS, Daniel M. Lin's perseverance in rising through the ranks to
Eagle Scout is a strong indication of his ability to master difficult
tasks; his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as a leader, fully
equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex society; and
WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Daniel M. Lin on achieving the rank of Eagle
Scout; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Daniel M. Lin.
