MOURNING the death of Patrice Ann Davidson,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of her
community

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to convey its
grateful appreciation and heartfelt regret in recognition of the loss of
a generous and inspiring individual, who touched the lives of many; and

WHEREAS, It is with profound sadness that this Legislative Body
records the passing of Patrice A. Davidson, who died on Tuesday, May 3,
2022, at the age of 56; and

WHEREAS, Patrice A. Davidson was born on November 28, 1965, in
Queens, New York, to Thomas Kenny and Veronica Lyons; and

WHEREAS, In 1983, Patrice A. Davidson graduated from Hicksville High
School, and went on to attend The State University of New York College
at Geneseo, where she mentored students as a resident advisor, and
earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education; and

WHEREAS, Patrice A. Davidson married the love of her life, James
"Jim" Davidson, of Hicksville, New York, on July 22, 1989, and together,
they raised three children in West Islip, New York; and

WHEREAS, An admired teacher at the Valley Stream Central School
District for 34 years, Patrice A. Davidson distinguished herself in her
profession and by her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to
the welfare of her students and community; and

WHEREAS, Community service was a cornerstone of Patrice A.
Davidson's life, and she was involved in several local organizations
that were close to her heart, including Our Lady of Lourdes Roman
Catholic Church and the Valley Stream Teachers Association; and

WHEREAS, In honor of Patrice A. Davidson's life and decades of
service to the Valley Stream Central School District community, the
Valley Stream Teachers Association has created a scholarship in her
name; and

WHEREAS, Patrice A. Davidson's generous nature extended beyond her
earthly life and by being an organ donor, she was able to save the lives
of five people after her passing; and

WHEREAS, Patrice A. Davidson lived life to the fullest and loved
traveling, cooking, spending time with her beloved family members and
friends, and of course, relaxing on her front porch at her home in West
Islip; and

WHEREAS, Patrice A. Davidson is survived by her loving husband, Jim,
and their treasured three children, Tara, Stephen, and Shamus; and

WHEREAS, Patrice A. Davidson leaves behind a legacy of generosity,
positivity, hard work and service that will long endure the passage of

time and will remain as a comforting memory to all she served and
befriended; she will be deeply missed and truly merits the tribute of
this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Patrice A. Davidson, and to express its deepest
condolences to her family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Patrice A. Davidson.
