COMMENDING Detective Jeffrey M. Lanigan upon the
occasion of his retirement after almost four years
of dedicated service as President of the Rome Police
Department Police Benevolence Association

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
the significant milestones in the distinguished careers of those
esteemed individuals who distinguish themselves in service to the cause
of working men and women in the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Detective
Jeffrey M. Lanigan upon the occasion of his retirement after almost four
years of dedicated service as President of the Rome Police Department
Police Benevolence Association; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey M. Lanigan began his long and distinguished career
with the Rome Police Department on June 3, 2008, and quickly rose
through the ranks from Patrolman to Detective; and

WHEREAS, Always concerned for the well-being of his police brothers
and sisters, Detective Jeffrey M. Lanigan was elected President of the
Police Benevolence Association (PBA) in December of 2018, the position
from which he will officially retire in 2022; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Detective Jeffrey M. Lanigan
has displayed throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Detective Jeffrey M. Lanigan upon the occasion of his retirement
after almost four years of dedicated service as President of the Rome
Police Department Police Benevolence Association, and to wish him
continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Detective Jeffrey M. Lanigan.
