CONGRATULATING Rosa Stein upon the occasion of
being inducted into the 28th Annual May W. Newburger
Women's Roll of Honor by the Town of North
Hempstead, in conjunction with the observance of
Women's History Month

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those women of achievement within this great Empire State
who have made strong contributions to their communities and who inspire
others through their model citizenship; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Rosa Stein upon the occasion of being inducted into the
28th Annual May W. Newburger Women's Roll of Honor by the Town of North
Hempstead, in conjunction with the observance of Women's History Month;
and

WHEREAS, Since 1994, the Town of North Hempstead has honored women
who have made a contribution to their community, or have accomplished a
significant achievement through public or private efforts; Rosa Stein is
one such woman; and

WHEREAS, Rosa Stein has been a vital part of her Town of North
Hempstead community for 23 years, and is dedicated to making it a better
place to live, work and play; this year, she accepted one of many
supervisory aide positions Munsey Park School needed to open safely
under COVID-19 protocols; and

WHEREAS, As she raised her three daughters, Rosa Stein served as a
Girl Scout leader for 14 years, was a member of Friends of the Manhasset
Library for two years, a Grade Level Chair with the Manhasset SCA
keeping parents informed and involved in school activities, and a
liaison between the SCA and Manhasset CASA; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Rosa Stein has been actively involved with the
Junior Coalition of the Manhasset Women's Coalition Against Breast
Cancer, the MWCABC Board, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society at the
Church of St. Mary; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Rosa Stein upon the occasion of being inducted into the
28th Annual May W. Newburger Women's Roll of Honor by the Town of North
Hempstead, in conjunction with the observance of Women's History Month;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rosa Stein.
