        COMMENDING  the  Boy  Scouts of America Troop 106,
        Huntington, New York, upon the occasion of its 100th
        Scout to achieve the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
pay  tribute  to  those  organizations that are devoted to instilling in
youth the values of community service and civic responsibility; and
 
  WHEREAS, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and its members  are  dedicated
to  the  development  of  character  and leadership in the youth of this
Nation; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commend the Boy Scouts of America Troop 106, Huntington, New York,  upon
the occasion of its 100th Scout to achieve the prestigious rank of Eagle
Scout, to be celebrated at a Court of Honor ceremony on Sunday, June 13,
2021,  at  the  Fire  Ring  and  Pavilion  at  West  Hills  County Park,
Huntington, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America  has
provided  boys  and  young  men the opportunities to learn skills and to
take part in adventures; a Scout learns to camp and  hike,  and  how  to
live  in the outdoors; a Scout also learns about the world around us and
studies citizenship in the community, in the Nation, and in  the  world;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  In  addition,  Scouting  gives  a  boy the experiences and
responsibilities to help him mature as a  strong  and  confident  adult;
Scouting is a doorway to lifelong friendships; and
 
  WHEREAS,  A  fairly  small  but  active  troop  under  the  luminous
leadership of Scoutmaster Steve Kowalski and Committee  Chair  Rudy  Von
Bartesch,  Boy  Scouts  of America Troop 106 of Huntington, meets weekly
and gives tirelessly of its time and energies to  the  local  community;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Huntington Elks Lodge No. 1565, Boy Scouts
of  America  Troop  106  was  founded in 1954, and has developed a proud
history while maintaining the traditional values of Scouting; and
 
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to add its commendation  and
congratulations  on  this  notable  occasion,  recognizing the exemplary
efforts and promising future of Boy Scouts of America  Troop  106,  upon
the  occasion  of celebrating the 100th Scout to achieve the prestigious
rank of Eagle Scout and its  dedicated  leadership  who  have  given  so
selflessly,   with  meritorious  achievement,  in  contributing  to  the
education  and  development  of  the  youth  of  their  community;  now,
therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Boy Scouts of America Troop 106 upon  the  occasion  of  its
 
100th  Scout  to  achieve the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout; and be it
further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Boy Scouts of America Troop 106, Huntington, New York.
