MOURNING the death of Timothy C. Myers, devoted
husband, father and grandfather, and dedicated
member of his community

WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who,
through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better
the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive
impact on the lives of its residents; Timothy C. Myers was one such
individual; and

WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Timothy C. Myers, noting the
significance of his purposeful life and accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Timothy C. Myers of Vestal, New York, died on Thursday,
July 15, 2021, at the age of 65; and

WHEREAS, Affectionately known as Mr. Wonderful and Buck, Timothy C.
Myers worked for Dick's Sporting Goods for 49 years after being hired by
Dick himself; and

WHEREAS, This extraordinary man knew Dick's Sporting Goods could
expand further than Binghamton, and side by side with his best friend
and brother-in-law, he was instrumental in bringing that vision to life
wearing a multitude of hats; and

WHEREAS, Timothy C. Myers may be best known as the heart of the
Dick's Sporting Goods Open (DSGO), which he proudly led since its
inception in 2007; he went above and beyond, traveling to tournaments to
convince pro golfers to play in the DSGO; and

WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Timothy C. Myers, this PGA
Champions Tour event won numerous accolades, including the President's
Award as well as being voted the Players Favorite Tour Stop; and

WHEREAS, Born and Raised in Binghamton, Timothy C. Myers loved his
hometown and its community; he worked tirelessly to help the community
and anyone he could by serving on boards, committees and organizations
such as the Binghamton University Foundation; he was beyond generous to
anyone in need, always remembering his roots and humble beginnings; and

WHEREAS, Timothy C. Myers is survived by his loving wife of 41
years, Kim (Stack) Myers; his beloved children, Timmy (Jen), Meaghan,
Teddy (Becca), Daniel, Molly and Annie Kate; his four precious
granddaughters, Ryan Myers, September Reyes, Ottilie Myers and Winnifred
Myers; his siblings, Dan (Donna) Myers, Gloria Meade (Mike) and Marie
Doud (Dick); and far too many dear friends to name; and

WHEREAS, Timothy C. Myers' infinite selflessness and benevolence
will shine on through his family's vivid and happy memories; his insight
and strength will forever serve as a beacon of love, light and hope to
the countless lives he touched; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Timothy C. Myers leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
who were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man; he will
be deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Timothy C. Myers, and expressing its deepest
condolences to his family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Timothy C. Myers.
