Ortt Big Game Rifle Bill Signed Into Law

Senator Rob Ortt (R,C,I,Ref-North Tonawanda) is proud to announce that Senate Bill 1930, which permanently authorizes big game rifle hunting in Orleans County, has been signed by Gov. Cuomo. Previously, big game rifle hunting was operating under a legislative extender, which was set to expire on October 1, 2019. However, thanks to this legislation, big rifle hunting in the county will now be permanent.
“I am glad that this legislation was passed and signed in a timely manner to allow for big game rifle hunting this upcoming season, and I want to thank my colleague, Assemblyman Steve Hawley, for his work in helping to get this legislation passed,” said Sen. Ortt. “For many, hunting is a way of life and provides generations of families a chance to bond, learn about nature, and educate the younger generations about what it means to hunt. This legislation will ensure the practice of hunting and outdoor education continues in Orleans County for decades to come.
